Did you know that you can get your hair cut inside the Magic Kingdom? Yep, it’s true! The Magic Kingdom is home to the Harmony Barber Shop, and the best part is that it’s a fairly inexpensive way to add a bit of magic to your trip. I consider this a Disney secret because it’s tucked away, and lots of people don’t even know it’s there.
When you enter the Magic Kingdom, head to the left corner between City Hall and the Emporium. There you’ll find this classic barber shop!
The Harmony Barber Shop specializes in first haircuts and adding a bit of magic to cuts for all ages. Prices are actually fairly reasonable, and many of the cast members who work there have been there for YEARS. They love that they’re now cutting the hair of adults who started coming as children.
The first haircut package comes with commemorative Mickey ears and a bag to save some of the cut locks. There are stickers, bubbles, toys, and all kinds of creative techniques to keep little ones still and entertained during their haircut.
These haircuts aren’t just for first timers though! My son loves getting his hair cut there and requests it on all our trips. And who can blame him? The cast members make it a ton of fun.
Those having their hair cut have the option of adding some pirate or pixie dust to the experience. Sibling spectators can often get a sprinkle of their own as well.
The shop is generally open from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM. We have been pretty successful with walk-in appointments, but advance appointments are suggested. If it’s a high priority, like for a first haircut, I would definitely call to book in advance. The number to do so is 407-939-7529.
